Cost Accountant | Melbourne

Bhagwan Marine is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join our Melbourne team. Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the CFO, you will play a key role in project costing, forecasting, financial reporting and business performance analysis across a diverse portfolio of marine and subsea projects.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing project financials within Dynamics 365.

- Preparing project and monthly profit & loss reporting.

- Partnering with Project Managers on forecasting, cost control and project performance.

- Investigating project variances and providing commercial insights.

- Supporting client billing, claims and revenue recognition processes.

- Issue EOM and EOFY information to HQ finance team, including revenue, cost and WIP accrual.

- Reviewing regional financial performance and recommending improvements.

- Driving continuous improvement in financial and operational processes.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

- CA or CPA qualification (essential).

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.





- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Cost Accountant, Project Accountant or similar role.

- Strong project accounting and financial analysis experience.

- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.

- Advanced Excel skills and experience using SharePoint.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

- Robust attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously.
