We are seeking a commercially minded Trading Executive to join an established Australian recycling and industrial business based in Mackay.

The role will focus on sourcing and purchasing ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal, managing customer accounts and coordinating deliveries to nominated facilities.

This is a hands-on commercial role suited to someone with experience in sales, account management or industrial trading who enjoys building relationships, negotiating deals and identifying opportunities for growth.

1.2 Key Responsibilities

- Manage existing customer accounts while developing new business opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with customers and understand their individual requirements.
- Negotiate pricing and prepare quotes based on customer needs.
- Coordinate scrap metal procurement and deliveries to relevant facilities.
- Work closely with trading and operations teams to maintain service standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, company policies and safe work practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, customer retention and business performance.

- Experience in sales, account management or business development.
- Experience in scrap metal, recycling, waste management or a related industrial workplace is advantageous.
- Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and organise work effectively.
- Commercial awareness and a focus on growing customer accounts.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with a strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
