About ARRC Gold Coast

The Advanced Resource Recovery Centre, or ARRC, is transforming how the Gold Coast manages its waste and turns it into value. Owned by the City of Gold Coast, this $1.6 billion precinct is set to become one of the world’s first planned waste and energy precincts, providing Gold Coast residents with a value-for-money and environmentally responsible way to manage the region’s waste. It will also divert up to 97% of the waste currently sent to landfill.

The opportunity

You will establish and improve asset management and maintenance practices across ARRC’s growing portfolio of fixed processing plant, mobile plant and fleet, site infrastructure, facilities and supporting systems.

Working closely with operational, engineering, technology, project and support teams, you will develop ARRC’s asset management roadmap, improve asset information and maintenance planning, and use condition and performance data to support safety, reliability, availability and whole-of-life value.

Develop and deliver ARRC’s strategic asset management roadmap, balancing long‑term planning with practical improvements.

Establish and maintain asset registers, asset hierarchies, criticality assessments and maintenance plans.

Improve asset information architecture, data governance and integration across asset, maintenance and operational systems.

Monitor maintenance performance, work order compliance, backlog, recurring failures and asset condition to identify risks and prioritise improvements.

Lead the development of digital and predictive capabilities to support asset reliability and maintenance performance.

Maintenance and contractor management

Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance for fixed and mobile plant and infrastructure.

Manage facilities partners, contractors and specialist providers against agreed KPIs, service levels, budgets and contractual obligations.

Develop and manage maintenance budgets, operating expenditure forecasts and capital renewal plans.

Provide asset management advice and project delivery guidance for major and minor works.

Partner with project and operational teams on handovers, compliance, budgeting, capital planning and continuous improvement.

Prepare reports, briefing notes and submissions on asset and maintenance performance.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced asset management professional who can build fit‑for‑purpose systems and practices while maintaining a strong focus on practical operational outcomes.

You will be confident working across fixed and mobile plant, infrastructure and maintenance environments,

and able to turn technical and asset information into transparent priorities, plans and decisions.

Tertiary qualification or trade qualification with substantial relevant experience.

At least seven years’ experience in asset management, maintenance or reliability within fleet, plant, utilities, waste, manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.

Experience with CMMS/EAM systems, asset data, maintenance planning and contractor performance.

Experience in asset lifecycle planning, reliability, condition assessment and contractor management.

Experience developing and managing maintenance budgets, operating expenditure and capital renewal forecasts.

Working knowledge of ISO 55000/55001 principles and lifecycle asset management practices would be highly regarded.

Personal attributes

Strong practical knowledge of infrastructure and fixed and mobile plant.

Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors, operational teams and senior management.

Able to identify emerging issues and translate technical information into sound asset and maintenance decisions.

Organised and methodical, with the ability to manage competing demands and multiple workstreams.

Adaptable and collaborative, with the ability to lead change and continuous improvement.

Why ARRC Gold Coast?

Joining ARRC Gold Coast means contributing to a major resource recovery precinct as its facilities and operations continue to develop. You’ll have the opportunity to shape asset management systems and practices that support reliable operations and long‑term value for the region.
