Our client is an Australian Federal Government agency seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrators t o join their team in either QLD, ACT, VIC, SA .

n

Role summary

n

TheSQL Database Administrators will pr ovide specialist technical support across SQL Server, Db2 z/OS, Db2 Midrange and MongoDB platforms, with an immediate focus on MongoDB upgrades and migrations. The role will involve database performance optimisation, risk management, data integrity and service continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

n

n
- Administer and support SQL Server, Db2 z/OS, Db2 Midrange and MongoDB database platforms, including performance tuning, backup, recovery, security and operational support.
n
- Plan, validate and implement database upgrades and migrations,



with a focus on MongoDB, while maintaining data integrity, availability and service continuity.
n
- Assess technical risks, troubleshoot database issues, document changes and procedures, and collaborate with technical teams to support platform resilience and knowledge transfer.

Selection Criteria:

n

n
- Demonstrated expert-level administration experience across Microsoft SQL Server, IBM Db2 z/OS, IBM Db2 Midrange and MongoDB in enterprise environments.
n
- Experience supporting databases in containerised environments and managing risks associated with upgrades, migrations, deployment and operations.
n
- Ability to plan and implement controlled database upgrades and migrations, maintain data integrity and service availability, and provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
n
