Janitor / Facilities Maintenance Officer n

Earn $42.14/hr supporting a major state government department in Lytton! Full-time Monday to Friday role covering facility cleaning, grounds upkeep, and basic maintenance. We are seeking a reliable and proactive Janitor / Facilities Maintenance Officer to join a prominent public sector body based in Lytton . Operating on-site within a key state government facility, this full-time contract offers consistent weekday hours, competitive pay, and a diverse range of hands‑on responsibilities.

Your Daily Responsibilities: n

Facility Cleaning: Executing daily internal and external cleaning across rest rooms, cafeteria, training rooms, entrances, windows, and walkways to ensure a hygienic site.

Grounds Maintenance: Conducting weekly lawn mowing, hedge trimming, weed control, plant care, and pressure washing paths.





n

Waste Management: Daily gathering and disposal of office, garden, and industrial waste to maintain a clean, presentable facility.

n

Inventory & Purchasing: Monitoring hygiene/cleaning stock levels, managing supply orders/requisitions, and liaising with external cleaning contractors.

n

Minor Repairs & Setup: Performing routine maintenance and general repairs using hand and electrical tools (including lifting, climbing ladders, and site setups).

n

Site Security & Compliance: Reporting facility deficiencies, upholding strict safety standards, and monitoring basic site safety/security.

What You Need: n

Licence: Current unrestricted C-Class Driver's Licence.

Tickets: Valid Forklift Licence (LF) or the ability to acquire one for the role.

n

Physical Capability: Hands‑on experience performing general repairs, lifting, climbing ladders, and operating various hand/power tools safely.

n

Experience: Background in janitorial work, commercial cleaning, or facilities/grounds maintenance.

n

Work Rights: Full Australian Working Rights.
