The role applies life sciences principles, epidemiological methods, and translational research frameworks to improve understanding of spinal disease progression, patient outcomes, and biological mechanisms underpinning degenerative spinal conditions.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Scientific Research Design and Implementation
- Design and develop scientific research protocols investigating spinal disease epidemiology and outcomes.
- Formulate research hypotheses relating to disease progression, biomarkers, and treatment outcomes.
- Develop registry-based longitudinal cohort studies.
- Integrate biological sample data (including proteomic and biomarker data) with clinical registry datasets.
- Ensure compliance with human research ethics and regulatory frameworks.
2. Experimental and Analytical Investigation
- Apply statistical modelling and epidemiological techniques to large-scale clinical datasets.
- Conduct bioinformatics and quantitative analyses using R and related statistical software.
- Analyse multi-source linked health datasets to identify disease trends and outcome predictors.
- Interpret biological and clinical data to generate scientific insights.
- Develop data dictionaries and quality control protocols to maintain scientific integrity.
3. Translational and Registry-Based Life Science Research
