What your day could look like

Each day will be rapid-paced, strategic and highly influential as you partner with the Executive team and leaders across the business to provide strategic direction & advisory. You'll lead thought-provoking discussions, challenge complex problems, uncover opportunities and translate big-picture thinking into clear, actionable recommendations that help shape the SEC's future and accelerate Victoria's renewable energy transition.

You'll also drive energy market insights & commercial analysis across generation assets, energy trading, and retail for commercial & industrial and households. Drawing on market intelligence, research and modelling, you'll identify emerging trends, evaluate opportunities and build compelling business cases that support critical investment and strategic decisions. Alongside this, you'll help uplift performance across the SEC through the development and tracking of OKRs. You'll work with teams to turn strategy into measurable outcomes, track progress, address roadblocks, and keep critical priorities on course.

What you need to be successful

You're a commercially minded and intellectually curious strategist who thrives on solving complex challenges and influencing decisions at the highest levels.



Combining strong analytical capability with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, you can confidently navigate ambiguity, bring structure to complex problems and translate insights into meaningful outcomes. You'll be energised by working in a dynamic environment where strategic thinking, collaboration and adaptability are critical to driving impact.

- Significant experience in in-house strategy or management consulting , with the ability to shape recommendations and deliver outcomes in complex policy, regulatory or technical environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by tertiary qualifications in economics, business, engineering or a related discipline, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholders, navigate uncertainty with confidence and influence decision-making through effective communication. Experience in Australian energy markets, particularly the NEM, and familiarity with financial modelling will be highly regarded.
