Axiom Spatial is seeking a Survey Technician to join our team in Engadine, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our surveying operations, supporting the delivery of accurate spatial data and survey information to our clients across the construction and property sectors. As a Survey Technician, you will work both in the field and in the office, utilising modern surveying equipment and software to collect, process, and analyse spatial data. This position offers the opportunity to develop your technical skills whilst contributing to projects that shape the built environment.

Key responsibilities

- Operating and maintaining surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS systems, and level instruments to accurately measure and record spatial data
- Conducting field surveys for various projects such as residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments
- Recording field measurements and observations with precision and attention to detail
- Processing raw survey data using relevant software and CAD applications to produce survey plans and reports
- Assisting licensed surveyors in the execution of survey projects and ensuring compliance with surveying standards and regulations
- Performing calculations and quality checks on collected data to ensure accuracy before final submission
- Maintaining comprehensive records and documentation of all survey work completed
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders to confirm requirements and provide updates
- Contributing to the health, safety and environmental management of survey activities on site
- Supporting the continuous improvement of surveying processes and methodologies within the organisation

What we're looking for

- Relevant qualification in surveying, such as a Diploma or advanced Certificate in Surveying or Spatial Information
- Proven experience as a survey technician or in a similar surveying support role within the construction or property industry
- Proficiency in operating standard surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS receivers,



and levels
- Competency with CAD software and surveying data processing applications
- Strong numeracy skills and the ability to perform accurate calculations and spatial analysis
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all work
- Sound understanding of surveying principles, practices, and industry standards
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in various outdoor and office environments
- Valid driving licence and capacity to travel to survey sites within the Sydney region
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements relevant to surveying operations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Preferred experience with specific surveying software packages such as Trimble or Leica systems
