Hurstville Dental Surgery is seeking a Casual Dental Receptionist/Dental Assistant to join our friendly and professional team. This is a casual position based in Hurstville, NSW 2220, offering flexibility and variety in a dynamic dental environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional service from the moment they arrive, whilst supporting our clinical team to deliver high-quality dental care. This position is essential to maintaining the smooth operation of our practice and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all our patients.

What you’ll be doing

- Greeting patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, and managing patient check-in processes
- Scheduling appointments efficiently and maintaining accurate patient records and appointment books
- Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls appropriately to ensure excellent customer service
- Processing patient payments and handling administrative tasks such as invoicing and account management
- Assisting dentists during clinical procedures, including instrument passing and suction
- Sterilising and preparing dental instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols
- Maintaining a clean and organised reception area and treatment rooms
- Taking and processing dental radiographs as required and under supervision
- Providing patients with post-treatment care instructions and support
- Supporting the practice with general administrative duties as needed

What we’re looking for

- Previous experience working as a dental receptionist,



dental assistant or in a similar healthcare reception role is highly desirable
- A patient-focused approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail when managing schedules and records
- Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer skills
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures, or willingness to learn
- A friendly, professional demeanour and ability to work effectively within a team
- Reliability and flexibility to work on a casual basis as required
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations
