McAdam Siemon Business Advisors is a well-established, independent accounting and business advisory firm with offices in Upper Mount Gravatt and Forest Glen.

We are seeking an experienced Auditor to join our Upper Mount Gravatt team on a full-time basis. Trust account auditing will be the primary focus of this role, with opportunities to work closely with our partners, build client relationships and gain exposure to accounting and tax matters across a diverse client base.

About the role

Working directly with the partners, you will plan, conduct and complete trust account audits for a portfolio of clients, while also assisting with selected accounting and tax work.

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and undertaking trust account audit engagements from commencement through to completion.

Reviewing trust account records, reconciliations and supporting documentation for compliance with applicable requirements.

Preparing clear audit working papers, identifying exceptions and discussing findings with clients and partners.

Building strong client relationships and responding to audit-related queries.

Managing audit workflow, deadlines and follow-up actions to deliver timely, high-quality work.

Assisting with financial statements, income tax returns and other accounting or tax matters as required.

Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate.

About you

You are an organised, approachable professional who enjoys audit work, working with clients, solving problems and contributing to a team.

You will bring:

CA or CPA qualifications, or relevant qualifications and experience.

Experience in auditing, external audit or a closely related compliance role.





Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to apply relevant requirements consistently.

The ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and multiple engagements.

A proactive approach to learning and resolving challenging audit matters.

The ability to build professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

Previous trust account audit experience will be highly regarded, particularly experience managing engagements and communicating findings to clients. Public practice experience, knowledge of accounting and tax, and familiarity with Xero, MYOB and cloud-based accounting software would also be advantageous.
