The Role

An exciting prospect exists for an experienced Senior AI Engineer to join a high-performing technology team delivering enterprise-scale AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions.

As a senior EL1-equivalent professional, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and optimising AI platforms across on-premise, cloud-native and hybrid environments. You will work closely with Data Scientists, Architects, Cyber Security teams and key stakeholders to establish foundational AI capabilities while ensuring solutions remain secure, scalable and aligned to government standards and frameworks.

Duties / Typical Day / Responsibilities





- Design and deliver secure, scalable and highly available AI, ML and Generative AI platforms
- Lead implementation, deployment and optimisation of enterprise AI workloads
- Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and automation capabilities
- Design end-to-end technical solutions for greenfield and brownfield environments
- Drive AI platform governance, compliance and secure-by-design practices
- Lead solution analysis, integration, migration and deployment activities
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance across multidisciplinary teams
- Collaborate with architecture, cyber security and data teams to establish platform standards and best practices
- Develop technical documentation, recommendations and executive-level presentations
- Resolve complex technical problems and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Act as a key technical advisor across large-scale transformation programs

What Our Client Requires

- 5+ years' experience as an AI Engineer within large enterprise environments
- Strong experience designing and supporting AI/ML and Generative AI platforms
- Proven experience across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments




- Experience delivering production-grade AI engineering and MLOps solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement, presentation and communication skills
- Ability to provide technical leadership and influence strategic outcomes

Technical Skills

- Python development and automation scripting
- AI/ML engineering and MLOps frameworks
- Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI technologies
- Hugging Face, RAG, embeddings and vector databases
- Container technologies including Docker and Podman
- Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms
- Linux administration, networking and storage solutions
- Git, GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Terraform, Ansible, GitOps and Infrastructure as Code
- REST APIs, OAuth/OIDC and enterprise integrations
- AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
- SageMaker and Azure AI/ML services
- GPU technologies including NVIDIA and CUDA
- OpenShift AI and distributed AI workloads
- Prometheus, Grafana and observability tooling
- DevSecOps, governance and compliance frameworks
- FinOps and cloud cost optimisation practices
