MLC School Council seeks to appoint our next Principal following Lisa Moloney’s announcement that she will retire in 2027, concluding a decade of distinguished leadership and service.
Our guiding ambition, Dare to Be More, reflects the enduring character of MLC School. Since our founding 140 years ago, when the School set out to prepare young women for university entrance just two years after women first gained the legal right to study at the University of Sydney, we have consistently demonstrated a boldness of purpose that continues to shape our identity. Today, the imperative to develop young women as fearless thinkers with moral courage, and compassion, to be agents of change in their own lives and the lives of others, is more compelling than ever.
Located in Sydney’s inner west, we place our 1,350 girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 at the centre of every decision. Our dedication to a holistic education and academic excellence remains steadfast. Our values of courage, compassion,
respect and growth continue to resonate deeply, and we take outstanding pride in the strength and warmth of our community.
The next Principal of MLC School will work in close partnership with Council to shape the School’s future direction: ensuring our educational agenda remains progressive and innovative; enhancing our learning environments; and thoughtfully leveraging the significant developments planned for our local area. They will also have the privilege of leading students, families and staff who are deeply committed to an MLC School education and to the inclusive values that reflect our identity as a Uniting Church school.
