About the job
We are looking for a Configuration Management Specialist to join our rapidly growing team in Sydney. In this role you will run the day-to-day change process for the vehicle and its support system. You will own the program's change register end to end. That means guiding change owners as they raise and enrich their change requests, and coordinating impact assessments across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, test and quality. You will prepare change packs for review and approval, then confirm that approved changes are released and implemented on the product.
Working closely with the Configuration Manager, you will be the person the program comes to for the status of any change. The role takes persistence in chasing inputs, care with technical detail, and the confidence to hold a change at the gate until it is complete. If you enjoy being the coordination point in a fast-moving engineering program then this role is for you.
What you'll do
- Own the program change register, from intake to confirming change implementation.
- Guide change owners in raising and enriching their change requests.
- Coordinate impact assessments across the disciplines and chase the ones that stall.
- Prepare change packs for review with impacted items, affected baselines, and implementation detail.
- Facilitate the change review forums.
- Verify that approved changes are released and reflected on the product.
- Maintain the vehicle and support system baselines.
- Check that a change propagates through every BOM it affects (EBOM, MBOM, SBOM).
- Report the status of changes: what is open,
what is ageing, what is blocked.
- Compile change and release evidence for configuration audits.
Required Experience
- Coordinating engineering change, configuration, or technical data in a regulated industry.
- Ability to keep a high volume of concurrent work moving to a deadline, and to get inputs out of busy technical people.
- Hands-on experience with a PLM, ERP, or change management tool (e.g. Teamcenter, SAP, Jira, Windchill).
- Working knowledge of industry configuration management standards (e.g. EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61).
- Working knowledge of BOM structures and lifecycle management, and how to assess change impact across them.
- Transparent written and verbal communication with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
- Must be an Australian citizen, and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Experience
- Experience administering a change process in a PLM system: workflow, approvals, and release.
- Familiar with software and firmware configuration management (e.g. Git, CI/CD pipelines).
- Knowledge of engineering gate reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR) and configuration audits (FCA/PCA).
- Exposure to a program running development, production, and/or sustainment on naval systems.
