Description

Great with people? Looking for a job where you can actually make a difference?

If you’ve worked in retail, hospitality, fast food or customer service, you already have skills that could make you a great Youth Guide.

We're looking for an energetic and motivated Youth Guide to join our Hervey Bay team. Whether you’ve recently finished Year 12, are looking to kick-start your career, or want to use your customer service skills in a role that makes a real difference, this could be the opportunity for you.

what does a youth guide do

Think of yourself as the heart of our site.

As a Youth Guide, you’ll be one of the first people young people see when they walk through the door. You’ll help create a welcoming, safe and engaging space where young people feel valued, comfortable and included.

your day could include:

- welcoming and connecting with young people
- making coffees, snacks and refreshments
- helping plan and support fun activities and social events
- answering phones, responding to enquiries and helping coordinate appointments
- setting up spaces for workshops and activities
- ordering supplies and keeping the site organised, clean and tidy

who we’re looking for

You don’t need years of industry experience. We’re looking for someone who is positive, proactive, great with people and willing to learn. You enjoy being busy, solving problems and helping others.

We’ll provide you with a structured onboarding program and role-specific training to set you up for success.

you will bring:

- passion, commitment and belief in young people
- great communication and customer service skills
- confidence connecting with people from different backgrounds
- good computer and digital skills
- availability to work Thursdays until 7pm for our youth social activities program
- have experience in retail, hospitality, fast food, reception or customer service
- enjoy planning activities and events
- can think on your feet when things get busy
- bring positive energy and enjoy making people feel welcome

At yourtown, we know that when our people feel supported, they can make the greatest impact. That's why we offer a range of benefits designed to support your financial wellbeing, professional growth, work-life balance and overall health.

Your employment experience will include:

- salary packaging of up to $15,900 per annum, plus additional meal and entertainment advantages, where applicable
- your choice of either a fortnightly or monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO) to support work-life balance
- discounts on groceries, fuel, travel, electronics and more through PayLab

- ongoing training and development opportunities, plus free access to LinkedIn Learning, with over 16,000 courses
- wellbeing benefits including Calm and Centr subscriptions and free, confidential EAP support
- a supportive, inclusive and values-driven workplace where your work makes a difference
