Tropic Petroleum are seeking the services of suitably qualified Truck Driver Trainer & Assessor on aFull-time basis to join their team at their Townsville based Depot.

Position Overview
Playing a key role in the recruitment of new drivers and the ongoing training and development of existing drivers to increase service quality and manage the health, safety and well-being of employees. Permanent opportunity who reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Conduct Pre-employment assessments on potential candidates for driving roles & verify heavy vehicle driving experience.
- Induction Training in workplace procedures, induct new employees, ensure drivers are inducted to all relevant required sites.
- Regular driver-based assessments and ride alongs ensuring ongoing compliance and skilled driving standards.
- Conducting regular paperwork training with drivers to ensure service standards are consistent.
- Prepare and present material for education and training for regular toolbox talks and other reviews
- On-demand specific needs training in response to changing situations or identified needs.
- Conduct/ participate in incident investigations and reviews
- When required, provide driver relief and coverage
- Promote and encourage safety culture with drivers whilst ensuring commitment to chain of responsibility legislation.
Qualifications & experience
- Certificate IV in training and assessment.
- Valid MC heavy vehicle licence.
- Knowledge of NHVR legislation and requirement; mass & load restraints, road transport rules and regulations, specifically in regard to dangerous goods.
- Previous experience as a truck driver.
- Experience in the handling of workplace-based training programs.
