Contractor Mobile Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Contractor
About the role
Affirm OT is looking for an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join us on a contractor basis across Melbourne’s inner north, middle north and north-east.
This role is ideal for someone who wants flexibility around family, another role or lifestyle, without having to build their own referral base from scratch.
There are no KPIs and no minimum weekly caseload.
You might want just a few client hours each week, one or two days, or something more substantial. We’re flexible around what works for you.
About Affir...
Affirm OT is a small, family-run and growing paediatric Occupational Therapy service.
We currently provide mobile community-based services, supporting children and families in homes, childcare, kinder, schools and other everyday environments.
We support NDIS, Medicare and private-paying clients, with telehealth available where appropriate.
Our main service areas include:
- Alphington
- Ivanhoe
- Coburg
- Northcote
- Greensborough
- Preston
- Reservior
- Surrounding northern suburbs
Our approach is neuroaffirming, strengths-based, practical, play-based and family-centred.
What the role offers
- 60% of billings
- Approx. $116–$126 per billable hour
- No KPIs
- No minimum weekly caseload
- Flexible days and hours
- Referrals provided
- Clinical and administrative systems provided
- Autonomy over your calendar and caseload
- Team support and collaboration when needed
- Access to selected Affir OT learning resources
- Regular social opportunities
You will be responsible for the clinical notes, communication, administration and billing associated with your own caseload.
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Has paediatric and/or community experience
- Has an ABN
- Holds appropriate skilled indemnity and public liability insurance
- Has a current Working with Children Check
- Has a current Australian driver’s licence
- Has their own reliable vehicle
- Is confident working independently in a community setting
- Can manage their own diary, documentation and clinical responsibilities
- Shows initiative with their own learning and skill development
- Is willing to research, problem-solve and seek out information when something is unfamiliar
- Values neuroaffirming, strengths-based and family-centred practice
You do not need to know everything.
What matters is that you are curious, willing to learn and comfortable taking initiative rather than waiting for every answer to be provided.
You will still have access to team support when needed, but this role is best suited to a therapist who is confident working autonomously.
If you’re looking for just a few hours each week, we’d still love to hear from you. If you want to build a larger caseload over time, there is room for that too.
