The Developer focus will be on increasing the robustness, maintainability and consistency of the existing product portfolio, by delivering robust, scalable software and data engineering solutions. As a Python and React Developer you will contribute to the development and maintenance of state-of-the-art software products and data pipelines within a fast-moving collaborative environment. In this setting, you will be exposed to a diversity of current energy challenges, leveraging your engineering and problem-solving skills to address them.

1. Deliver Data Solutions

n

Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality and identifying areas for improvement

n
- n

Diagnose and debug any identified issues

n
- n

Work within a coding team to build code, modify code, commit code to source control through pull request

n
- n

Apply statistical and analytical techniques to extract insights from energy and environmental datasets

n
- n

Assist manager or a principal to inform commercial proposal methodologies

n

2. Software Development & Tools

n
- n

Support development of digital solutions and dashboards that measure impact and transition progress.

n
- n

Build scalable and reliable data pipelines and APIs to support our software products

n
- n

Support the development of robust data pipelines and ensure data integrity and reproducibility.

n
- n

Improve the maintainability and consistency of the codebase through refactoring and the adoption of software engineering best practices

n
- n

Use software engineering principles to write clean, efficient, and scalable code.

n
- n

Collaborate on tool development used in production environments (e.g., PV connection approval tool, low-voltage network mapping)

n

3. Project Support

n
- n

Work collaboratively under the supervision managers to deliver work packages on time and to standard.

n
- n

Assist in documenting methods, results, and datasets for internal and client use.

n
- n

Contribute to testing, quality assurance, and version control (e.g., Git)

n
- n





Participate in actions/projects to assist the company in achieving greater efficiency, supervised by a manager or a principal.

n

4. Collaboration & Communication

- n

Work within a coding team to build code, modify code, commit code and proactively share knowledge with the team

n
- n

Actively participate in project discussions, reviews, and learning sharing sessions.

n
- n

Collaborate with product managers, project managers, and domain experts to deliver high-quality solutions on time.

n
- n

Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.

n
- n

Participate in presenting findings and recommendations to clients, under the supervision of managers or principals.

- n

n Preferred experiencen

Completed a degree or a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline such Computing Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Engineering

Passion for energy, workplace and/or sustainable development

Strong interest in data analytics

Knowledge of statistical and machine learning concepts and algorithms

Experience with the data science tool kit:

Python or R

Source control (such as Git)

Software engineering and app development skills

Knowledge of cloud computing (such as Azure, GCP, AWS) is a plus

Parallel computing (such as Spark or Dask) is a plus
