Dual Trade Engineering Tradesperson – Fitter/Fabricator

Sun Pharmaceutical's supply chain is focused at two sites in Australia and starts with agricultural operations in Tasmania that cultivate, harvest and process poppy crops, through to highly regulated extraction and value adding manufacturing operations in Victoria.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self motivated person to become an integral part of our engineering team at the Port Fairy site as a fitter/fabricator:

Key Duties

- To ensure production equipment, piping and structures are in a fit state for manufacture as required including set-up and optimization to ensure machinery is producing product of acceptable quality, while ensuring that set-up, changeovers and downtime are minimised.




- Ensure that all machines are maintained according to the preventative maintenance system. This includes filling out preventative maintenance sheets and entering the results, also to ensure that unplanned maintenance is recorded in the appropriate log book and unplanned maintenance works order forms.
- Join metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting. Prepare and finish welds by grinding and polishing as required. Cut, shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand, machine tools, heating and hammering as required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

- Flexibility with hours and ability to work on a rotating weekday (day and afternoon shifts) and on call rosters.
- Be sufficiently familiar with plant, equipment and services in order to carry out trouble shooting, fault identification and rectification.
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade and Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication.
