The successful candidate will manage immigration matters, provide clear and practical advice, and represent clients in visa applications and review proceedings.

Key responsibilities

Manage a caseload of immigration matters, including partner, protection, skilled, employer-sponsored and visitor visas.

Advise clients on visa eligibility, migration pathways, refusals and cancellations.

Prepare and lodge visa applications, supporting documents and legal submissions.

Handle Administrative Review Tribunal matters, including preparing submissions and representing clients at hearings.

Handle Judicial Review Applications in the Federal Circuit Court.

Respond to Department of Home Affairs requests and correspondence.

Maintain accurate files,



monitor deadlines and keep clients informed.

Work collaboratively with solicitors, paralegals and administrative staff.

Admission as an Australian legal practitioner and a current practising certificate.

At least two years' experience practising Australian immigration law.

Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills.

Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to clients.

Ability to manage matters independently, prioritise competing deadlines and exercise sound professional judgment.

A commitment to ethical practice and high standards of client service.

Experience in protection visa matters, visa refusals and cancellations, and Tribunal advocacy will be highly regarded. Additional language skills are welcome.
