Senior Financial Accountant | Finance Transformation & AI

We are partnering with an established, multi-entity business that is investing heavily in the future of its finance function and looking to appoint a technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to play a key role in that transformation.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has built strong foundations in financial accounting, reporting and compliance , but is equally passionate about technology, automation and how AI can change the way finance teams operate.

The business is undertaking significant investment in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), process automation and agentic AI , with the ambition of moving away from manual, transactional accounting towards a more automated, efficient and strategically focused finance function.

The Opportunity

This is a role with two distinct phases, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to take ownership of core accounting responsibilities initially, before transitioning into a finance transformation and automation-focused position .

In the short term, you will take responsibility for accounting and reporting across the group's property investment entities and operational business, developing a detailed understanding of its financial processes, systems and reporting requirements.

As the business progresses through its D365 redesign and AI implementation, your role will evolve towards designing standardised finance processes, implementing automation and overseeing the accuracy and integrity of AI-driven accounting activities .

Key responsibilities will include:

- Taking ownership of month-end accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting across multiple entities
- Managing accounting deliverables across property investment entities and the operational business
- Supporting investment property accounting, budgeting and reporting




- Overseeing specialist accounting areas including FBT and imports
- Ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial reporting and accounting processes
- Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive accounting tasks and improve existing workflows
- Supporting the ongoing Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP redesign and implementation
- Working closely with D365 developers and external AI consultants to improve financial processes
- Designing and implementing standardised, scalable accounting processes
- Supporting the introduction of AI agents to automate traditional finance activities
- Reviewing, monitoring and validating AI-generated accounting outputs to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Identifying opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency across the finance function
- Partnering with finance colleagues and business leaders to drive adoption of new systems and processes
- Supporting broader finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

We are looking for a technically strong accountant with a genuine interest in technology, systems and process improvement .

This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to maintain existing processes. The business is looking for someone who is curious, forward-thinking and excited by the prospect to help shape what the future of finance looks like.

Ideally, you will have:

- Strong technical accounting experience across financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end
- Experience working within a multi-entity business
- Solid understanding of accounting standards, financial controls and compliance




- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 , or strong systems capability with the ability to learn new platforms quickly
- Exposure to property investment accounting or similar complex accounting environments would be advantageous
- A demonstrated interest in finance transformation, automation and process improvement
- Exposure to AI tools and an understanding of how technology can improve financial processes
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The confidence to influence, educate and bring others along through change
- A proactive, adaptable mindset and willingness to challenge traditional ways of working

You don't need to be an AI expert or developer. What matters is having the technical accounting knowledge to understand what good looks like, alongside the systems capability and curiosity to help implement new ways of working.
