Senior Draftsperson – Solidworks Steel/Sheet Metal skilled
n $130k + Super

n Protech have partnered with a busy AU custom build/design business for Water storage solutions/Tanks.
n We are looking for a professional SolidWorks designer to work on site in the St Marys factory.
n You’ll turn customer ideas into designs that fabricators can then build, working a few meters from where they’re being made.
n You will be able to hit the ground running with a pipeline of projects waiting for you to start ASAP.

The role will see you working in a busy yet experienced engineering design team with extensive Technical Designs in Solidworks.
n Duties will include the following;

n

- Prepare and manage comprehensive drawings, plans, and designs for tanks, silos, platforms, and structural steelwork.
n
- 3D Modelling; Create complex mechanical assemblies and large-scale models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
n
- Produce highly accurate general assembly drawings, detailed construction packages, sheet metal details, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to a strict fabrication-ready standard.
n
- Produce accurate manufacturing-ready SolidWorks models and drawings and oversee the final designs of other team members
n
- Create Bills of Materials and manufacturing documentation.
n
- Work directly with production teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
n




- Validate designs against practical manufacturing and fabrication constraints.
n
- Own projects from concept through to production.
n
- Drive ongoing product and manufacturing improvements.
n

What We’re Looking for;nn
- Extensive SolidWorks experience.
n
- Proven experience designing products for manufacture.
n
- Strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing environments.
n
- Experience producing accurate manufacturing drawings.
n
- Previous exposure drafting tanks, silos, platforms, or structural steelwork.
n
- Strong understanding of cutting, folding, welding and assembly processes.
n
- Deep practical understanding of structural drafting and sheet metal Standards – Preferred knowledge of Australian Standards including AS1657, AS1210, AS2304, AS4100, and AS4600.
n
- Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
n
- Australian Drivers licence/ access to vehicle
n
