Business Systems & Automation Specialist
Trisco Foods began in 1875 and more than 150 years later, it is still family-owned and run by the Tristram family, now in its fifth generation. That heritage shapes how we work: we do things properly, with a focus on quality, service and deep industry expertise. Our traditional range of syrups, sauces, toppings and bakery fillings, including our internationally distributed Venezia Syrups & Sauces, is made for the foodservice industry, and we support customers from product development through to production at scale.
Today, Trisco is as much about innovation as tradition. Our Precise brand was created to meet a real healthcare need, giving aged care residents living with dysphagia a better solution through products like Precise Thick-N INSTANT. From our base in Ipswich, Queensland, a growing team across several countries brings the same family values to everything we make.
We’re investing heavily in the systems and technology that will carry us into our next chapter — and we need someone to lead that charge.
The Opportunity
This is a newly defined, full-time, permanent role to own and drive Trisco’s technology and automation program end to end. Working on-site at our Carole Park facility, you’ll be the person who turns a list of good ideas — dashboards, automated workflows, a smarter Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system — into things that are actually built, adopted and used.
A key part of the role will be working with different teams to understand how they operate and identifying opportunities to create or implement tools that improve productivity, reduce manual work and simplify business processes.
This isn’t a build-everything-from-scratch role.
Most of what’s ahead is about selecting proven platforms, integrating them well, and managing the vendors and the change that comes with them.
We do not expect one person to be a technical expert in every area. An important part of the role will be knowing when to solve something internally and when to engage and manage external specialists.
Help us work smarter, not harder.
What You’ll Do
- Own delivery of our priority programs, including Pronto ERP optimisation, an Azure data warehouse, finance automation (such as accounts payable), sales order management and digital batch sheets, and coordinate the wider pipeline of systems and improvement projects behind them.
- Review business processes with finance, production, supply chain and sales, identify opportunities to automate and improve, and turn real problems into requirements that vendors can deliver.
- Build the reporting the leadership team relies on, including Power BI dashboards and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) scorecards drawing on our Pronto and Cognos data.
- Build or assist with straightforward internal tools, automations and workflows, using Power Automate to retire manual spreadsheets one at a time.
- Support the practical adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted tools and coordinate internally developed and AI-assisted applications and workflows.
- Engage and manage our ERP partner, external developers, IT providers and technology specialists for more complex requirements.
- Make sure internally and externally developed solutions are secure, reliable, documented and maintainable, and support sound governance around systems, automation, AI and internally developed applications.
- Lead the change management (communication, training and follow-through) that makes new systems stick.
- Scope and prove the next automation opportunities before anything is bought or built.
What You’ll Bring
We're looking for a technology generalist with solid problem-solving, communication and project coordination skills. You don't need to be a software developer, infrastructure engineer, cybersecurity specialist and IT support technician all in one. What matters more is enough technical understanding to choose the right approach, coordinate the right people and take ownership of the outcome.
The ability to understand a business problem, investigate the options and help deliver a practical solution.
Comfort working with both technical and non-technical people, and credibility on the factory floor and in the boardroom.
- Business analysis experience: mapping a process and turning a problem into a transparent brief.
- Exposure to an ERP platform, such as Pronto or a similar mid-market system.
- A track record of managing vendors, projects and change.
- Power BI and data skills, including reporting, data modelling and Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Automation experience with Power Automate and Application Programming Interface (API)-based integration.
