Elf Mushrooms is seeking an experienced Payroll & HR Officer to join their team in Vineyard, NSW.

Please note: The role is currently based in Vineyard, with the business planning to relocate to Londonderry, NSW in approximately two years . The successful applicant will transition to the new location following the move.

About the role

Offering 30 hours per week , this office-based role can be structured across four or five days, with working hours between 8am and 4pm. We are open to working with the right person to find an arrangement that works for both you and the business.

This is a hands-on and wide-ranging role with responsibility for end-to-end payroll, workers' compensation and return to work coordination, together with HR administration, WHS support and financial reporting.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will work closely with managers and supervisors across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll & HR Administration

Manage end-to-end weekly payroll across multiple companies using Lewis payroll software.

Manage STP, Payday Super, payroll tax and associated payroll obligations.

Maintain accurate employee and personnel records across payroll and HR systems, including Favour HR.

Complete wage and superannuation reconciliations and year-end payroll processing.

Respond to employee payroll enquiries and manage associated correspondence and administration.

Workers' Compensation & Return to Work

Manage workers' compensation claims, documentation and insurer correspondence.

Coordinate medical appointments and reviews.

Liaise with employees, medical practitioners, insurers and rehabilitation providers.

Develop and monitor Return to Work programs.

Prepare and manage wage reimbursement schedules.

Monitor claims progress and insurer service delivery.





Reporting & Reconciliations

Complete four-weekly payroll and financial reporting.

Prepare month-end payroll journals.

Complete wage, superannuation and payroll tax reconciliations.

Ensure all reporting is accurate and completed within required timeframes.

WHS & General Support

Support WHS and injury management systems and processes.

Assist with SWMS and WHS risk assessments.

Participate in staff, claims and operational meetings.

Provide general administration and business support as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and confident working autonomously in a hands-on environment.

Ideally, you will bring:

Strong experience managing end-to-end payroll, including STP, superannuation, payroll tax and reconciliations.

Experience managing workers' compensation claims and Return to Work processes.

Experience with HR administration and exposure to WHS processes.

Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with employees, insurers, rehabilitation providers and medical professionals.

Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

Experience within agriculture, manufacturing or an industrial environment will be highly regarded.
