ROLE – Senior Mechanical Design Engineer SALARY - $150,000 - $175,000 per annum, dependent on experience TYPE – Permanent n

My client specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke machinery and equipment. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Adelaide on a permanent basis.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: n

n
- At least 5-8 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering, ideally within machinery, mining equipment or heavy industry
n
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
n
- Highly skilled with 3D CAD software, ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar
n
- Experience designing bespoke machinery, heavy equipment, pumps, skids or industrial systems
n
- Strong understanding of Australian engineering standards and relevant design codes
n
- Proven experience managing the full design lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to manufacture and commissioning
n
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, including fabrication, machining and assembly
n
- Experienced with engineering calculations, design verification, testing and validation
n
- Able to lead projects,



manage technical requirements and coordinate the work of other engineers
n
- Confident mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance
n
- Able to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver projects to deadlines
n

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve: nn
- Leading the design and development of bespoke machinery and equipment from concept through to manufacture
n
- Producing detailed 3D models, engineering drawings and technical documentation
n
- Managing projects, design deliverables and technical requirements
n
- Ensuring designs comply with Australian standards and relevant engineering codes
n
- Working closely with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and fit for purpose
n
- Overseeing design reviews, calculations, testing and validation
n
- Providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and coordinating project workloadsResolving design and manufacturing issues throughout the project lifecycle
n
- Working autonomously within a small, multidisciplinary team on varied engineering projects
n
