Senior Clinical Leadership | Paediatric Development | Child & Adolescent Mental Health

Your expertise has brought you this far. Now imagine what you could help build.

At The Daisy Clinic, we're building something meaningful in paediatric healthcare. A place where exceptional clinical practice, developmental expertise, multidisciplinary collaboration and genuine care for children and families come together.

We're seeking an accomplished Clinical Psychologist or Educational and Developmental Psychologist to lead our Psychology Department into its next chapter.

This is an opportunity for a psychologist with substantial paediatric expertise, exceptional clinical judgement and a genuine passion for developing others to influence not only the quality of psychological care delivered today, but the direction of our services for years to come.

We're not simply looking for someone to manage a department. We're looking for someone who can inspire clinical excellence, develop the next generation of psychologists and help shape the future of child and adolescent psychological care.

A leadership prospect with genuine influence

As Head of Psychology, you'll provide senior clinical leadership across a growing Psychology Department within an established multidisciplinary paediatric health service.

You'll work closely with our CEO, Director of Clinical Services, Executive Leadership Team and Heads of Departments. You'll have meaningful influence over clinical standards, professional development, assessment and intervention pathways, service innovation and the ongoing development of our psychological services.

Importantly, this is a clinical leadership position, not an administrative management role.

Our established operational and administrative teams support the day-to-day running of the clinic, allowing you to focus on what matters most: clinical quality, developing clinicians and advancing psychological practice.

You'll also maintain a small, carefully considered clinical caseload, ensuring you remain connected to clinical practice while having dedicated time for leadership responsibilities.

What you'll lead and influence

Your responsibilities will include:

- Clinical leadership and excellence: Provide expert clinical guidance, consultation and direction across the Psychology Department, particularly in complex developmental, diagnostic and mental health presentations.
- Assessment and diagnostic practice: Lead the development and refinement of comprehensive, evidence-based assessment, differential diagnosis and formulation pathways.
- Clinician development: Mentor, support and develop psychologists across career stages, fostering clinical confidence, critical thinking, professional judgement and reflective practice.
- Clinical governance: Promote high standards of ethical practice, documentation, clinical decision-making, risk management and professional accountability.
- Supervision and consultation: Contribute to professional supervision, complex case consultation, multidisciplinary case reviews and collaborative clinical decision-making.
- Evidence-based practice: Foster a culture where clinicians actively engage with contemporary research, critically evaluate emerging evidence and translate knowledge into meaningful clinical practice.
- Service development: Help shape new assessment pathways, intervention programs and innovative models of paediatric psychological care.
- Multidisciplinary collaboration: Work alongside senior clinicians across disciplines to strengthen integrated, developmentally informed and family-centred care.
- Professional education: Contribute to internal training, clinical education, professional development and opportunities for research and quality improvement.
- Strategic leadership: Collaborate with the executive team to guide the continued growth, capability and clinical direction of the Psychology Department.

We're looking for depth of expertise, not simply years of experience

This is a senior clinical appointment requiring a psychologist with substantial experience and a sophisticated understanding of child development, psychological assessment and child and adolescent mental health.

Essential qualifications and experience

- General registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

- Area of practice endorsement in Clinical Psychology and/or Educational and Developmental Psychology.
- A minimum of five years of substantial clinical experience working with children, adolescents and their families, including extensive paediatric practice.
- Advanced knowledge of typical and atypical child development, neurodevelopmental conditions and developmental psychopathology.
- Demonstrated expertise in comprehensive psychological and developmental assessment, diagnostic formulation and differential diagnosis.
- Robust clinical experience with complex child and adolescent mental health presentations, including emotional, behavioural, developmental and relational difficulties.
- A comprehensive understanding of parenting, family systems, attachment, early relationships and the influence of developmental and environmental contexts.
- Advanced skills in evidence-based psychological intervention, including developmentally appropriate and family-centred approaches.
- The clinical judgement and professional maturity required to guide other psychologists through complex presentations and clinical decisions.
- A demonstrated commitment to ethical, neuroaffirming, culturally responsive and evidence-based psychological practice.
- Strong communication, collaboration and professional leadership capabilities.

Leadership experience and professional contribution

We're particularly interested in psychologists who have demonstrated their capacity to influence and elevate the practice of others.

You may already be leading a clinical team or department, or you may be an accomplished senior psychologist who has developed substantial leadership capability through clinical supervision, mentoring, consultation, professional education or service development.

Experience in clinical supervision, research, professional education, quality improvement or the development of clinical services will be highly regarded.

Why join The Daisy Clinic?

The Daisy Clinic's approach is grounded in the belief that children and families benefit from connected, developmentally informed and collaborative healthcare. We value clinical curiosity, thoughtful assessment, professional integrity, reflective practice and a commitment to continually improving the care we provide.

We're building a service where clinicians are encouraged to think critically, collaborate meaningfully and continue developing their professional capabilities. As Head of Psychology, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to that vision.

What makes this opportunity different?

The support of a larger system. The freedom to help shape it.

One of the challenges experienced clinicians often encounter is working within systems that don't always support the care they know children and families need.

Complex organisational structures, fragmented services, competing priorities and limited influence over clinical processes can make it difficult to translate good ideas into meaningful change.

At The Daisy Clinic, we're taking a different approach.

We're an independently operated, community-oriented private paediatric health service, combining the clinical governance, professional support, multidisciplinary expertise and operational infrastructure of a larger organisation with the flexibility, responsiveness and personal connection of community-based practice.

We believe the systems surrounding clinicians should enable exceptional clinical care, not become barriers to delivering it.

And we're committed to building those systems thoughtfully.

As Head of Psychology, you won't simply inherit a department and be expected to work within established structures. You'll have the opportunity to actively shape how our Psychology Department operates, how clinicians are supported, how services connect and how clinical quality is maintained as we grow.

You'll work directly with our CEO, executive team and multidisciplinary leaders to identify opportunities, challenge existing approaches constructively and develop practical, evidence-informed solutions.

Your clinical expertise won't just inform individual client care.

It will help shape the systems that support care across the entire department.

Genuine clinical influence, without unnecessary bureaucracy

We value skilled expertise and believe the people closest to clinical practice should have a meaningful voice in how services are designed and delivered. You'll have opportunities to influence clinical pathways, departmental structures, professional development, multidisciplinary collaboration and the systems that underpin high-quality psychological care.

A community-oriented approach to paediatric healthcare

We're committed to delivering accessible, connected and responsive healthcare that reflects the needs of children, families and the communities we serve. Our independently operated model allows us to remain closely connected to those needs and to respond thoughtfully as they evolve.

Multidisciplinary collaboration that extends beyond referrals

Psychology is part of a broader paediatric service where collaboration across disciplines is central to how we approach children's development, wellbeing and care. You'll work alongside leaders in Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy to strengthen integrated assessment, shared clinical understanding and coordinated support for families.

The opportunity to build, not simply maintain

Our Psychology Department is continuing to evolve. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of clinical frameworks, assessment and intervention pathways, supervision structures, professional capability programs and innovative service models.

This is an opportunity to leave a lasting professional contribution through the clinicians you develop, the standards you establish and the systems you help create.

Clinical leadership with operational support

We recognise that clinical leaders are most effective when they have the time and support to focus on clinical quality, professional development and service improvement.

Our executive, operational and administrative teams provide the organisational infrastructure that allows you to concentrate on clinical leadership, rather than carrying responsibility for every aspect of day-to-day practice management.

A place where your expertise can make a difference

We want our Head of Psychology to bring ideas, ask difficult questions, challenge assumptions and contribute to how our services evolve. You'll be supported to lead with professional autonomy, collaborate across disciplines and develop approaches that are clinically sound, practical and responsive to the needs of children and families.

At Daisy, we don't believe great clinicians should have to work against the system to deliver great care. We believe in building a system that helps them deliver it.

The right person matters

We recognise that exceptional clinical leadership requires more than qualifications, experience or an impressive résumé.

It requires sound clinical judgement, professional integrity, intellectual curiosity, the ability to inspire and develop others, and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.

We are seeking someone who combines advanced clinical knowledge with humility, compassion, accountability and the confidence to guide others. Someone who is equally comfortable navigating complex clinical questions, challenging practice constructively, sharing knowledge generously and recognising that even the most experienced clinicians never stop learning.

This is an important appointment for The Daisy Clinic, our clinicians and the families who place their trust in us.

We are approaching this recruitment with care and intention, seeking a leader whose expertise, professional values and vision genuinely align with the future we are building.

Could this be your next chapter?

You may already be an established clinical leader looking for an opportunity with greater influence and professional purpose.

Or you may be an exceptional senior psychologist whose clinical expertise, mentoring and professional contribution have naturally positioned you for a more significant leadership role.

Either way, if you're looking for more than your next job, if you're looking for an opportunity to lead, influence and help build something meaningful, we'd love to hear from you.
