Epping Plaza Hotel is seeking a Casual Cook to join our hospitality team on a casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen environment where you'll prepare quality meals and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. Based in Epping VIC 3076, this casual position offers flexibility whilst allowing you to develop your culinary skills in a professional hotel setting.

What you'll be doing

Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and kitchen standards

Ensuring all food is cooked to the correct temperature and plated to maintain consistency and quality

Following food safety and hygiene protocols at all times to meet health and safety regulations

Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking apparatus

Managing workstations and keeping the kitchen organised and clean throughout service

Assisting with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating and portioning ingredients

Communicating effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth coordination during service

Supporting the kitchen team during peak periods to meet service requirements

Contributing to inventory awareness and reporting any issues or concerns to senior kitchen staff

What we're looking for

Previous experience as a cook or in a kitchen environment, ideally in a hotel or hospitality setting

Knowledge of food preparation techniques and ability to follow recipes accurately

Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards,



with current food handling certification or willingness to obtain one

Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality

Excellent teamwork skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues

Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods whilst working in a hot kitchen setting

Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required for casual employment

Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop your culinary skills
