About the Role

As Assistant Director, you will:

1. Lead a significant service area—overseeing large-scale budgets and cross-council responsibilities to deliver key outcomes for residents and the city.
2. Drive innovation and improvement—work collaboratively with councillors, staff, partners, and communities to deliver quality, value-for-money services.
3. Empower and develop teams—support and inspire staff to achieve their best and contribute to council objectives.
4. Champion strategic leadership—translate the Cabinet’s vision into action, ensuring our values are embedded at every level.
5. Deliver excellence—ensure statutory functions meet the highest professional standards and performance targets.
