Job Description
Senior Experiential Producer (Parental Leave Cover) n
SENIOR EXPERIENTIAL PRODUCER (PARENTAL LEAVE COVER)
n
THE MAVERICK MAKER OF UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES
n
ABOUT TABOO
n
From the earliest age, we’re taught to follow bad rules. Colour inside the lines. Act your age. Don’t be weird.
n
The marketing world has its own bad rules — pointless processes, outdated customs, limiting conventions.
n
TABOO wasn’t born from that world. We broke the rules that didn’t serve us or our clients — and reimagined the rest. That’s what set us apart. Our work felt different because our approach was different. People noticed. Culture cared. And our clients did to.
n
Twenty-five years on, we’re still proving that doing it wrong is the only way to get it right.
n
We’re an independent collective of rule-breakers, risk-takers and cultural shapers — and we’re looking for someone who speaks our language.
THE ROLE n
TABOO is on the hunt for a Senior Experiential Producer who knows how to bring bold, ambitious ideas to life. You’ll be steering a portfolio of experiential projects—from small activations to large-scale events, including a key part of a major global sporting event. Your role is to turn big ideas into seamless executions, owning production from start to finish.
n
That means managing budgets, locking in suppliers, handling logistics, and ensuring every event runs like a dream. You’ll be across every detail—sourcing the best suppliers, creating rock-solid schedules, tracking costs, assessing risks, and keeping clients informed. Your expertise will shape creative concepts from the start, making sure they’re feasible, on budget, and delivered to perfection.
n
You’ll also be a leader—mentoring junior producers as the team evolves, guiding them through the wild world of production, and helping them grow.
Collaboration is key; you’ll work closely with our creative, design, and account teams, ensuring production elevates every idea. And when things don’t go to plan? You’ll be the one who stays calm, finds a solution, and keeps things moving.
WHAT YOU’LL DO n
n
- n
Lead medium to large-scale experiential projects across a variety of clients.
n
- n
Work with the creative department to refine and finalise concepts with innovation and excellence.
n
- n
Own end-to-end production—from pre-production planning through to live execution and post-event wrap-ups.
n
- n
Manage budgets like a pro—ensuring jobs are delivered on budget and at the right profit margins.
n
- n
Prepare flawless documentation—including production schedules, budgets, briefing docs, meeting agendas, presentation decks, and project updates.
n
- n
Handle all onsite logistics—from run sheets and call sheets to risk assessments and supplier schedules.
n
- n
Lead and foster client relationships, keeping them informed and happy, ensuring their expectations are exceeded at every stage.
n
- n
Work side‑by‑side with creatives, designers, and suppliers, ensuring every execution is the best it can be.
n
- n
Vet all creative concepts during the pitch process, ensuring feasibility, affordability, and smooth execution.
n
- n
Lead and mentor junior team members, shaping the future of our production department.
n
- n
Oversee multiple projects at once, keeping everything on track, on time,
and on budget.
n

WHO YOU ARE nn
- n
5 - 10 years agency/event production experience (client-facing).
n

A creative problem-solver who thrives on making the impossible happen.
n
- n
A logistics master—scheduling, budgeting, and supplier wrangling are second nature to you.
n
- n
Experience in design & construction for events—working with build suppliers, engineers, and production teams.
n
- n
Can confidently lead live events onsite including managing all suppliers during bump in, live event and bump out.
n
- n
Comfortable managing both suppliers and junior team members.
n
- n
Sharp financial skills—you know how to build and manage budgets that work.
n
- n
A multi-tasker who can juggle multiple projects at once without missing a beat.
n
- n
Detail-obsessed—nothing gets past you.
n
- n
A strong network of suppliers and production contacts in Melbourne (bonus points for Sydney).
n
- n
Happy to roll up your sleeves—TABOO is a small, fast-moving team, and everyone pitches in.
n
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW nn
- n
This is a full-time 12 month parental leave cover role.
n
