We’re looking for a motivated Junior BMS Technician to join our controls team. You’ll work alongside and under the guidance of a Senior BMS Technician, installing, commissioning, maintaining and troubleshooting Building Management Systems across commercial and industrial sites. This role suits someone with some hands‑on BMS or controls experience who wants to build their skills and grow into a senior position, with structured training and support along the way.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, commissioning and maintenance of BMS systems
- Help diagnose and resolve faults in HVAC controls and BMS networks, under the direction of a senior technician
- Carry out routine inspections, testing and preventive maintenance
- Read and work from drawings, schematics and control strategies
- Help prepare and update points lists and functional descriptions
- Liaise with engineers, contractors and clients on site
- Follow all safety procedures and industry standards
- Complete service reports and job documentation accurately
Requirements
- Some experience in a BMS, controls or electrical role (e.g. 1–3 years, or a recently completed apprenticeship with controls exposure)
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and control panels
- Exposure to BMS platforms such as Johnson Controls, Distech, Niagara or iSMA (desirable, training provided)
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Good problem‑solving skills and a willingness to learn
