About the role n

We are seeking a Diploma qualified Educator to join our team at Water Street Child Care and Kindergarten in Cairns. This is a full-time position offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's early learning and development. As a Diploma qualified Educator, you will provide high-quality educational experiences and pastoral care to children in our care, working collaboratively with our team to create a nurturing and stimulating environment. This role is essential to our service's ability to deliver the National Quality Framework standards and meet the developmental needs of every child in our care.

Key responsibilities n

- Implement and deliver developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development
n
- Plan and prepare educational activities that are responsive to children's interests, needs and abilities
n
- Provide direct supervision, duty of care and support to children throughout the day
n
- Build positive relationships with children and families, fostering trust and open communication
n
- Maintain accurate and timely observations, documentation and assessments of children's progress and development
n
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for children and families
n




- Support the implementation of our educational philosophy and centre policies and procedures
n
- Communicate with parents and carers regarding children's development, progress and wellbeing
n
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and professional practice
n
- Maintain compliance with legislation, regulations and National Quality Standards
n

What we're looking for nn
- A current Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent nationally recognised qualification)
n
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (paediatric)
n
- Working with Children clearance or willingness to obtain one
n
- Demonstrated experience working with children in an early childhood education and care setting
n
- Strong understanding of child development, learning theories and play-based pedagogy
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families and colleagues
n
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
n
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
n
- Sound organisational and time management skills
n
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to early childhood education standards
n
- Experience with children's behaviour guidance and positive relationship-based practices is preferred
n
