Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join a high-performing team delivering retail projects for a key national client. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of new store, renewal, and refurbishment projects, providing end-to-end cost management services from concept design through to final account settlement.

You will work closely with client stakeholders, project managers, contractors, and consultants to ensure successful project outcomes across multiple retail programs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys client-facing responsibilities, can work independently, and is passionate about delivering high-quality cost management solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide pre-contract cost planning and estimating services during project design phases.
- Prepare and manage project budgets for new and renewal retail projects.
- Conduct procurement and tender evaluation activities.
- Assess progress claims, contract variations,



and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to improve value and efficiency.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with Woolworths project teams and key stakeholders.
- Engage with local construction and property markets to maintain current market knowledge and cost benchmarks.
- Support effective commission management to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with cost management and project management teams across multiple locations.
- Deliver accurate reporting, forecasting, and commercial advice.
- Take ownership of deliverables and manage projects independently where required.

Qualifications

Essential

- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, or a similar role.
- Strong experience in:
- Cost planning and estimating
- Contract administration
- Procurement and tendering
- Progress claim assessment
- Variation management
- Final account negotiations

- Experience managing relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Current driver's licence.

Desirable

- Membership or accreditation with RICS and/or AIQS.
- Experience using CostX.
- Previous experience delivering retail, commercial, or multi-site programs of work.
- Exposure to national account or portfolio-based project delivery environments.
