This is a key support position within our trading team, responsible for managing the administration and coordination of customer orders from the point of sale through to invoicing. Once our traders secure an order, you'll take responsibility for ensuring the order is accurately processed, communicated and coordinated between our customers, international suppliers and internal team. You'll be the central point of communication throughout the order process, ensuring everyone is informed of progress, changes and any issues requiring attention. This is an operational and administrative support role, rather than a direct sales or trading position.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and issue purchase orders to international and domestic suppliers.

Create and distribute sales orders and order confirmations to customers.

Liaise with suppliers regarding order requirements, production progress, documentation and delivery schedules.

Coordinate and prepare packing lists, commercial documentation and customer invoices.

Monitor order progress and proactively follow up on outstanding information or documentation.

Communicate changes to quantities, specifications, pricing or delivery schedules with the relevant trader, supplier and customer.

Identify potential issues or delays and escalate them promptly to the trading team.

Maintain accurate order records and ensure all documentation is completed correctly and on time.

Work closely with the trading, operations and finance teams to ensure orders progress smoothly.

About you

Experience in sales support, order processing,



purchasing, customer service administration or supply chain coordination.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple orders and competing priorities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

High attention to detail, particularly when preparing purchase orders, sales orders and invoices.

Confidence communicating with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.

A proactive approach to problem-solving and following up outstanding tasks.

Good computer skills and experience working with business systems and Microsoft Office.

Experience in steel, building materials, wholesale distribution, importing or international trade would be advantageous, but is not essential.
