MINKPINK & Staple the Label | House of Quirky

House of Quirky is home to MINKPINK and Staple the Label, two established Australian fashion brands with a global outlook and distinct points of view.

We’re looking for a Brand Director to define the vision behind our collections and bring together product, brand, customer and market insight to shape what comes next.

Reporting to the COO and Directors, you will lead the vision from the very first idea of a collection through to how it comes to life across every channel.

ABOUT US

House of Quirky is an Australian fashion house based in Sydney and home to MINKPINK and Staple the Label.

Our brands have established wholesale and direct-to-consumer businesses across Australia and international markets, each with its own customer, handwriting and place in the market.

We are entering an exciting period of evolution and growth. At the heart of that is great product.

We want to create collections that feel cohesive, relevant and unmistakably ours, grounded in a deep understanding of our brands, our customer and where the market is heading next.

ABOUT YOU

You are a visionary fashion leader with an exceptional eye for product, collection, trend and brand.

You naturally think in collections rather than individual garments. You understand how colour, print, silhouette, fabrication, styling and key pieces come together to create a complete story.

You have an instinct for what’s next, but you don’t simply follow trends. You know how to interpret them through a brand’s unique identity, identify gaps in the market and turn chance into collections customers want to wear.

You are equally curious about what is happening in the market as you are about what is happening on the runway. You want to understand our consumer in every region, our wholesale account base, what is performing, where competitors are winning and where the opportunity lies.

You are a confident leader and natural collaborator who can unite a talented Design team behind one clear vision, while working closely with Marketing, E-Commerce, Wholesale and Sales to carry that vision all the way to the customer.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

Collection vision & ideation: Originate and define the overarching vision and story for each collection, bringing together global trends, cultural shifts, customer insight, brand DNA and market opportunity.

Design direction: Unite our Design team behind a clear collection vision, ensuring individual designers and categories come together as one cohesive range rather than being designed in isolation.

Collection curation: Guide the interplay of colour, print, silhouette, fabrication, outfitting and hero pieces to build collections that feel considered, compelling and commercially relevant.

Brand & collection DNA: Be the guardian of the collection DNA of MINKPINK and Staple the Label, ensuring each brand has a distinctive, recognisable and cohesive point of view.

Brand evolution: Define how each brand evolves through product and collection curation while remaining true to the core elements that make it identifiable.

Trend & market intelligence: Stay ahead of global fashion,

cultural and consumer trends, identifying which movements are relevant to our brands and where there is genuine whitespace in the market.

Regional consumer: Develop an exceptionally deep understanding of the consumer in each region and the wholesale account base within each market, knowing our customers, retailers, competitive set and opportunities as intimately as the Sales teams who service them.

Wholesale intelligence: Know our key wholesale partners, who they serve, what performs for them, where our brands sit within their assortment and where opportunities exist to grow.

Customer: Understand both the customer we have today and the customer we want to attract next, recognising that this may look different across Australia, North America and other international markets.

Go-to-market blueprint: Translate each collection vision into a clear go-to-market blueprint, providing Marketing, E-Commerce, Content, Wholesale and Sales with the direction, key stories and product priorities to bring it to life cohesively across every channel.

Hero product & storytelling: Identify the hero products, key looks, stories and moments that should lead each collection and ensure the original product vision remains intact as it moves to market.

Brand partnership: Work alongside the Head of Marketing to build a strong understanding across the wider business of who each brand is, who she is for and what makes her choose us.

Cross-functional leadership: Unite Design, Marketing, E-Commerce, Content, Wholesale and Sales behind a shared brand and collection vision, creating clarity around not only what we are creating, but why.

Commercial relevance: Combine strong fashion instinct with wholesale, e-commerce, customer and sales intelligence to ensure we are designing with a clear understanding of where and for whom the product will ultimately be sold.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

10+ years’ experience in senior brand, design, product or creative leadership roles within the fashion industry, including experience at Brand Director, Design Director, Head of Brand, Head of Product or equivalent level.

A strong background in fashion is essential, with experience across established multi-channel or international fashion brands highly regarded.

Exceptional fashion and product instinct, with a sophisticated understanding of global fashion, consumer and cultural trends.

Proven experience developing, directing and curating cohesive seasonal collections, from initial concept and trend direction through to final range.

Demonstrated experience leading and inspiring multi-category Design teams, setting a clear vision while creating space for individual designers to bring their expertise.

The ability to confidently present and articulate collection and brand vision to Directors,

senior leadership, Design, Marketing, Sales and other stakeholders.

A solid understanding of brand identity and how to evolve an established fashion brand without losing its DNA.

The ability to identify market opportunities, customer needs and product gaps and translate them into compelling collection ideas.

Strong commercial instincts and an understanding of range architecture, product performance, pricing, sell-through and what ultimately makes product sell.

A strong understanding of wholesale and the role different accounts, regions and customers play in shaping product opportunity.

Experience working across international markets, with an understanding of how consumer needs, fashion trends and commercial opportunities differ by region.

An understanding of how a collection translates from product into campaign, content, e-commerce, wholesale and the broader customer experience.

Confidence working with trend forecasting, consumer insights, competitor analysis, sales and e-commerce data to inform product and collection direction.

Strong working proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with experience in Figma, Canva, Notion or similar creative and collaboration platforms highly regarded. You don’t need to be the graphic designer, but you should be confident using creative tools to build, communicate and present collection and brand vision.

Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to bring creative and commercial teams together around a shared vision.

The confidence to establish a clear point of view, challenge thinking when needed and make decisions while remaining highly collaborative.

Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally for market research, trade shows, wholesale appointments and other key brand and collection activity.

A degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Business, Design, Brand Management or a related discipline is highly regarded.

WHAT WE OFFER

Real influence: Have a genuine impact on what MINKPINK and Staple the Label become next, from the first collection idea through to how it reaches the customer.

Two established brands: Shape the evolution of two Australian fashion brands, each with its own identity, customer and opportunity for growth.

Direct access to leadership: Work closely with the COO and Directors, with the ability to influence product and brand direction at the highest level.

Global opportunity: Help shape collections for customers and wholesale partners across Australia, North America and other international markets.

Creative collaboration: Work alongside experienced designers, marketers, e-commerce specialists and sales teams to turn a clear collection vision into something powerful in market.

The opportunity to build: Join House of Quirky at an important point in its evolution and help set the creative and commercial standard for the next chapter of our brands.

If you have the vision to see what comes next, the product instinct to turn it into exceptional collections and the leadership to bring a team with you, we’d love to hear from you.
