Restaurant Manager – Sydney's CBD popular and busy Restaurant in Newcastle is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead its daily operations and deliver an outstanding experience for every customer.

This hands-on position is ideal for an organised hospitality professional who enjoys leading a team, working on the floor and maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

- Plan, organise and oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficient service.
- Recruit, train, supervise and manage restaurant staff.
- Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties according to service requirements and budgets.
- Monitor customer satisfaction, respond to enquiries and resolve complaints.
- Coordinate with chefs on menu planning, seasonal specials and customer preferences.
- Manage reservations, seating arrangements, group bookings and functions.
- Oversee purchasing, stock levels and relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor sales, expenses and labour costs to meet financial targets.
- Maintain records of stock, financial transactions and operational performance.
- Ensure dining areas and service facilities are clean, presentable and properly maintained.
- Implement and monitor food safety,



hygiene and workplace safety procedures.
- Oversee cash handling, till reconciliation and opening and closing procedures.
- Conduct team briefings and performance reviews to maintain service standards.

About you
- Diploma of Hospitality Management or a relevant qualification, or suitable industry experience.
- Previous experience managing a busy café, restaurant or similar hospitality venue.
- Robust leadership, communication and customer-service skills.
- Experience managing rosters, stock, suppliers and operating costs.
- Knowledge of food-safety, hygiene and workplace requirements.
- Confident using point-of-sale and rostering systems.
- Reliable, well presented and able to work under pressure.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays when required.
