Intermediate Accountant | Tax & Business Services | Burwood

Looking for your next accounting role in a friendly and supportive firm?

We are a small but growing accounting practice based in Burwood, and we are looking for an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our team.

You'll work with a varied portfolio of small and medium-sized clients and have the chance to manage accounting and taxation work from start to finish rather than being limited to one area.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

- Preparing BAS and assisting with GST compliance

- Working with clients on a range of taxation and accounting matters

- Communicating directly with clients and the ATO

- Using Xero Practice Manager and other leading accounting software

- Managing your own workflow and deadlines while working as part of a supportive team

What we're looking for

- Minimum 2–3 years' Australian Tax and Business Services experience





- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and SME compliance requirements

- Experience preparing financial statements and income tax returns

- Sound knowledge of BAS and GST

- Experience with Xero Practice Manager, Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

- Confident written and verbal communication
- A friendly, approachable and positive attitude

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- Ability to communicate effectively in Sinhala and English
