Community Acupuncture by Ping Ming Health
Independent practice opportunities | Fitzroy, Prahran and Hawthorn Build your practice within a supportive team while helping make Chinese medicine more accessible.
Ping Ming Health is seeking Chinese medicine practitioners who share our commitment to affordable, qualified and compassionate care.
Managed by Ping Ming Health, established in 1992 by Dr Ping Wang, our clinics bring together traditional Chinese medicine, modern clinical systems and a highly experienced and supportive team setting.
Practitioners join us under an independent practice agreement, with the clinic providing management services, established systems, ongoing mentoring and professional development to support their practice.
Why Community Acupuncture?
The purpose of Community Acupuncture is to make quality acupuncture and Chinese medicine accessible to more people. Treatments take place in a welcoming, shared treatment space. This model helps us keep care affordable while creating an environment where practitioners work alongside one another and patients feel part of a caring community.
Community acupuncture suits practitioners who enjoy connecting with people, working cooperatively and providing attentive, individualised care within an efficiently run clinic.
Affordable care requires thoughtful organisation, clear communication and sound clinical judgement. We are looking for practitioners who value these skills and want to develop them with our support.
Our Team Culture
Our long-standing reputation is built on trust, teamwork and care. You’ll join a warm, supportive and respectful team where kindness, professionalism and personal integrity are valued alongside clinical skill. Our practitioners share knowledge, discuss cases and support each other’s development.
We provide structured mentoring, regular professional development and guidance from senior practitioners, including Dr Ping Wang,
to help you grow confidently in your practice.
We welcome practitioners who are:
- Motivated by making quality care more accessible
- Compassionate, ethical, reliable and patient-focused
- Comfortable working alongside colleagues in a shared treatment environment
- Organised and able to manage their time while remaining attentive to each patient
- Open to feedback, reflective practice and lifelong learning
- Interested in building lasting relationships with patients and colleagues
- Committed to contributing to a positive workplace culture
About the Opportunity
We welcome practitioners seeking full-time or part-time availability at our community acupuncture clinics in Fitzroy, Prahran and Hawthorn. This is an independent practice arrangement, rather than an employment position. You will practise as an independent Chinese medicine practitioner within our collaborative clinic environment. The agreement and applicable fees will be explained during the selection process.
As part of our practitioner team, you will:
- Assess patients and provide individualised acupuncture and Chinese medicine care within your scope of practice
- Explain treatment plans clearly and support patients to make informed decisions about their care
- Maintain professional standards of consent, confidentiality, clinical documentation and patient safety in a shared treatment setting
- Work cooperatively with colleagues to support patient care and the smooth running of the clinic
- Participate in mentoring, CPD workshops and case discussions
- Build ongoing therapeutic relationships and review patients’ progress
Your Qualifications and Experience
- A recognised degree in acupuncture and/or Chinese medicine
- Current AHPRA registration, or eligibility to obtain registration before commencing
- Eligibility for professional association membership, such as AACMA
- Provider registration with major private health funds, or eligibility to obtain it
Experienced practitioners and new graduates are encouraged to apply. Previous community acupuncture experience is welcome, but a genuine interest in the model and willingness to learn are more important.
What We Offer
- Structured mentoring and ongoing professional development
- A team-oriented team with experienced practitioners to learn from
- Opportunities to develop broad clinical experience and areas of special interest
- Clinic management services, established systems and technology that support your practice
- A meaningful way to contribute to accessible healthcare
- Support to build a long-term practice within the Ping Ming Health clinic network
Right to Practise in Australia
Applicants must have appropriate Australian work rights and hold the registration and insurance required to practise as an independent Chinese medicine practitioner.
How to Apply
Please submit your CV and a cover letter addressed to Dr Jinnan Cai, Senior Chinese Medicine Practitioner. In your cover letter, please tell us:
- Why you want to practise in a community acupuncture clinic
- What you would bring to a collaborative clinical team
