Skilled Care is recruiting Aged Care Trainees for permanent part-time positions at a residential aged care facility in Coonabarabran.

You’ll be employed directly by the aged care employer, while completing your CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) through Skilled Care.

You’ll earn an income, attend paid scheduled onsite training and develop practical skills with guidance from experienced team members. Qualification training is fee-free for eligible trainees, with eligibility assessed during recruitment.

What you’ll receive

- Permanent part-time employment, with a minimum of 15 hours per week.
- $32.61per hour, plus super and applicable shift penalties.
- Paid scheduled onsite training while completing your qualification.
- Fee-free Certificate III training for eligible trainees.
- Structured training and ongoing support from Skilled Care and experienced workplace team members.
- Opportunities to pick up additional shifts, subject to availability.

These experiences can provide a practical foundation for care work. We’re looking for people who are reliable, respectful, willing to learn and interested in supporting older people.

You’re not expected to know everything from day one.



You’ll receive training and guidance as you develop your skills and confidence.

What the role involves

With training, supervision and guidance, you’ll learn to support residents with:

- Personal care, including showering, dressing and toileting.
- Mobility and everyday activities.
- Meals and daily routines.
- Companionship, social activities and emotional wellbeing.
- Following individual care plans and workplace procedures.
- Working safely as part of the aged care team.

This is hands-on work that involves personal care and supporting residents with dignity and respect.

Hours and availability

These positions offer a minimum of 15 hours per week.

The facility operates across morning, afternoon and overnight shifts. You let us know your availability

You must be able to reliably travel to and from the Coonabarabran facility for your rostered shifts and training.

Successful applicants will need to be available to commence in late November 2026.
