Agile Coach – Telecom Field Operations

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Agile Coach to drive Agile transformation across Telecom Field Operations, Network Delivery, Service Assurance, Workforce Management, and Operational Support teams.

You will coach field and business teams to adopt Agile ways of working, improve delivery velocity, enhance customer outcomes, and strengthen collaboration between field technicians, planners, project managers, and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings deep telecom domain knowledge (fiber, fixed wireless, infrastructure rollout, service provisioning, fault management, and field workforce optimisation) combined with strong Agile coaching capability at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Transformation & Coaching

- Lead Agile transformation initiatives across field operations and network delivery teams
- Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Delivery Managers, and operational leaders
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Retrospectives, Reviews, PI Planning, Value Stream workshops)
- Build Agile maturity and establish continuous improvement frameworks

Telecom Field Operations Excellence

- Partner with field delivery teams responsible for:
- Network build and deployment
- Service activation and provisioning
- Fault management and restoration
- Preventive & corrective maintenance
- Workforce scheduling and dispatch
- Streamline operational workflows and remove delivery bottlenecks
- Improve field productivity, SLA adherence, and customer experience

SAFe & Scaled Agile Delivery

- Implement and coach SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean practices across multiple teams
- Support Agile Release Trains (ARTs), Program Increment (PI) planning, and cross-functional alignment
- Establish Agile governance and delivery metrics





Stakeholder Management & Continuous Improvement

- Partner with Network Operations, Service Delivery, Engineering, PMO, Customer Operations, and Executive Leadership
- Define and track key metrics: Delivery Velocity, Lead Time, Cycle Time, SLA Compliance, Defect Leakage, MTTR, First-Time Resolution, Workforce Utilisation
- Conduct value stream mapping and process improvement initiatives
- Present Agile maturity assessments and transformation roadmaps to senior stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

Telecom Domain (Mandatory)

- 10+ years in telecommunications
- Strong exposure to Network Operations, Field Services, Service Assurance, Service Delivery, Infrastructure Rollout, Fiber & Fixed Wireless Networks, and Workforce Management

Agile Expertise (Mandatory)

- 5+ years of hands-on Agile Coaching experience
- Deep practical knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe, Agile Transformation, and Value Stream Management
- Proven experience coaching multiple Agile teams and leaders at enterprise scale

Tools

- Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Power BI, Miro/Mural
- ServiceNow (highly desirable)

Leadership & Soft Skills

- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence senior leadership and drive organisational change
- Experience leading enterprise-scale Agile transformations

Preferred Certifications

- Secure Program Consultant (SPC)
- SAFe Agilist (SA)
- Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP-ACC / ICP-ATF)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (desirable)

Nice to Have

- Experience working with nbn, Telstra, Optus, TPG, Vodafone , or major telecom infrastructure providers

- Exposure to large-scale network deployment, service activation, field workforce scheduling, and operational transformation programs
