Interested in starting a career as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic? Register your interest in joining Cleanaway!

Cleanaway is Australia's leading waste management company, operating Australia's largest heavy vehicle fleet. Our workshops play an important role in keeping our trucks and equipment running safely and reliably.

We're looking for people interested in undertaking a full time, paid Heavy Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship at our workshops across Victoria.

You'll learn to inspect, service, diagnose and repair heavy vehicles, developing practical mechanical and problem-solving skills along the way.

Whether you're finishing school, looking for your first career opportunity or considering a career change, we'd love to hear from you.

Why consider an apprenticeship with Cleanaway?

- Learn on the job – Gain hands-on experience working alongside qualified mechanics.
- Work on a diverse fleet – Develop your skills maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy vehicles and equipment.
- Earn while you learn – Work full-time while completing a nationally recognised trade qualification, typically over four years.
- Build a long-term career – Join an established Australian business with opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career.

Who are we looking for?

You don't need previous mechanical experience,

but we're interested in people who:
- Can demonstrate a genuine interest in mechanics, trucks or working with their hands.
- Enjoy practical work and solving problems.
- Are reliable, safety-conscious and willing to learn.
- Are committed to completing an apprenticeship and building a career in the trade.
- Can reliably travel to and from our workshops, which are often located in industrial areas with limited public transport options.
- Only 1% of diesel motor mechanics in Australia are women (Jobs and Skills Australia, ABS 2021 Census). We're looking to change that and particularly encourage applications from women and non-binary people.

We're building a pool of interested candidates for future apprenticeship opportunities across Victoria.

By registering your interest, you'll help us understand where you're looking to work, and we may contact you as suitable opportunities become available.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and particularly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to apply.
