Position Description: This is an exciting chance to work at the centre of the department's strategic policy agenda. The Strategy and Delivery Branch works in partnership with policy teams across DSS and across the APS on high-impact policy projects that progress the outcomes outlined in the DSS Impact Strategy.

We also lead efforts to strengthen the department’s strategic policy capability to implement the Capability Action Plan.

The successful candidate will contribute to the Branch’s two key functions:

- leading strategic policy projects that address complex social policy challenges
- designing and delivering high-quality policy training initiatives across the department.

The branch has a strong focus on evidence-informed policymaking, capability uplift and driving practical policy outcomes.

Eligibility / Additional Requirements:

To be eligible for employment with Department of Social Services (the department), you must be an Australian citizen. An applicant's suitability for employment with the department will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process.



This will include an identity and criminal history background check.

Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance:

To be eligible for this role, applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the required level through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA). This includes meeting AGSVA's identity, referee, and background checking requirements. Applicants with a history of overseas residence, employment, or travel may still be eligible, provided they can supply the information, documentation, and referee details required to support the security vetting process in accordance with AGSVA requirements.
