About the role

Join Hoopla as an Assistant Venue Manager, supporting daily operations and helping lead a team of 60+ staff in a busy family entertainment venue. Working closely with the Venue Manager, you'll keep shifts running smoothly, support staff across all departments and ensure every guest receives great service. You must be comfortable taking charge of the venue in the Venue Manager's absence.

Key responsibilities

- Support the Venue Manager with daily operations across reception, attractions, parties and food and beverage service
- Confidently lead shifts, delegate tasks and coordinate a large team during busy trade
- Assist with rostering, staffing levels and managing last-minute absences
- Help onboard, train and coach staff, reinforcing explicit expectations
- Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally
- Work closely with supervisors and the kitchen team to keep service running efficiently
- Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness and venue presentation
- Oversee opening and closing procedures,



cash handling and daily checks
- Identify operational issues and take action to resolve them

About you

- Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Duty Manager or Supervisor in hospitality, entertainment, retail or a similarly busy environment
- Strong leadership skills and the confidence to help manage a team of 60+ staff
- The ability to take ownership of a shift and make sound decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- An approachable but firm leadership style, with the ability to motivate staff and maintain standards
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, public holidays and school holiday periods
