Surgimed Pty Ltd is a privately held company with interests spanning healthcare and investment. Alongside its own operations, Surgimed holds shareholdings in Terrey Hills Family Surgery, JZR Investments, Ortho ACT and Summit Commercial Pty Ltd. We are a small, close-knit organisation where you will work directly with the directors and have real ownership of how the business runs.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, senior Business Manager to take charge of the running of Surgimed Pty Ltd across operations, finance, accounts and general administration, and to contribute at a strategic level to the growth of the group. Beyond the day-to-day, you will help shape business strategy, assess the feasibility of new opportunities and investments, and keep oversight of the company's interests in its related entities, working with the practice managers, accountants and advisers attached to each. This is a broad, autonomous role suited to a seasoned manager who is equally comfortable with hands-on financial administration and high-level planning.

Key responsibilities

Operations

- Manage the day-to-day operations of Surgimed Pty Ltd, including systems, processes and service providers
- Develop and implement business policies, SOPs and internal compliance frameworks, and drive operational efficiency across the group
- Maintain contracts, insurances, registrations and compliance obligations, including risk assessment and arranging appropriate cover
- Liaise with practice managers, external stakeholders and key contacts across the related entities

Finance & accounts

- Manage bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, banking and reconciliations
- Prepare budgets, cash-flow forecasts, financial projections and monthly management reports for the directors
- Work with external accountants and auditors on BAS, tax, audit schedules and end-of-year requirements
- Conduct feasibility and financial analysis of prospective projects and investments,



including due diligence on vendors and counterparties
- Monitor financial performance of the company's shareholdings and investments — spanning medical practices, property and commercial interests — and report to the directors

General administration

- Maintain company records, registers and corporate documentation, including ASIC and statutory requirements (with external advisers)
- Handle correspondence, scheduling, filing and records management
- Coordinate director meetings, prepare papers and follow up action items

About you

- Substantial senior management experience (10 years) spanning strategic planning, business development, finance and operations
- Postgraduate business qualification — an MBA with a finance specialisation is highly regarded
- Strong hands-on accounting and financial management skills: financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and audit coordination
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability; confident adopting accounting software (e.g. Xero or MYOB)
- Demonstrated experience developing company policies, SOPs and compliance documentation, and managing risk
- Skilled in stakeholder and government liaison, and in evaluating projects and investments (feasibility studies, due diligence)
- Real estate or property investment knowledge (e.g. a real estate practice qualification) is an advantage, given the group's property and commercial interests
- Highly organised and self-directed, with absolute discretion in handling confidential financial and company information
- Knowledge of Islamic finance investment

Pay: $75,000.00 – $96,000.00 per year
