PREPARED LEGAL SERVICES

Melbourne

Base plus uncapped commission. Keep the buyers, lose the files.

You've kept forty matters moving and forty buyers calm. You're the one they ask for by name. And your payslip looks the same whether the firm had a outstanding month or a flat one. This is a sales role built for exactly that person, and it pays on results.

About Prepared

Prepared is a legal-technology company with a law firm inside it. When an agent sends a buyer a contract, our expert property lawyers have a review in the buyer's hands the same day, usually before any offer or auction. The same lawyers carry the matter from contract to keys for one fixed fee. We launched in Victoria, we're growing fast through agency partnerships, and NSW is next.

The role

Take the one part of conveyancing you're best at and make it the whole job.

Every buyer who gets a review from us has just read a contract they're nervous about, and most have nobody to talk it through with. You're the person they speak to next. You've read the review before you dial.

You open with the two things that matter most for that property, then you listen. You help them build the offer, answer the everyday questions in plain English, and know the line between information and legal advice. When they're ready to go, you sign them up for their conveyancing and hand the file to our property lawyers, who take it from there.

You're not a lawyer in this seat and you won't give legal advice. When a buyer's question crosses that line, you bring one of our property lawyers in, the same day.

No adjustments. No transfer documents. No chasing the other side at 4.55pm. Just buyers.

Why we want a conveyancer and not a salesperson A salesperson can learn our pitch in a week. They can't learn in a week what you already know: what a Section 32 is hiding, why cooling-off starts at signing and not at acceptance, what an agent means by "the vendor wants it unconditional",

and what a first home buyer sounds like at 6pm on a Saturday. Buyers can tell the difference inside a minute. That knowledge is why they'll trust you, and trust is what opens the file.

The honest bit

It's a sales role. You'll have a target. You'll be on the phone most of the day, mostly to people who didn't expect the call. You'll be paid a base, and on top of it a commission on every conveyancing file you open, and the commission is uncapped.

If you want a quiet desk and a finished playbook, this isn't it. If you've ever thought "I got that buyer across the line, the firm got paid, and my payslip didn't move", read on.

What you'll earn

- $80,000 base plus super. The base is real; the commission sits on top of it.
- Uncapped commission on every signed contract, paid monthly. You're paid when the buyer signs with us, not when the file settles.
- On-target earnings of $125,000 in year one. The target is very achievable on the volume coming through today, and there is no ceiling above it.
- You're credited for any buyer you've had a logged conversation with in the prior 90 days, whichever contract they end up buying on. Buyers usually miss out once or twice before they win. The comeback is yours.

What you'll do

- Ring every new buyer within hours of their review landing, and keep going by call and text until you reach them.
- Pick up when a buyer rings in. It's the strongest signal we have.
- Walk buyers through what the review found and what it means for their decision.
- Help them build the offer:

conditions, timing, a look over the draft before it goes to the agent.
- Spot the moment a lawyer needs to be in the conversation, and book it the same day.
- Look after the buyers who miss out. The next contract review is free, and so is the one after that.
- Convert the buyers you've supported, sign them up, and hand the file over ready to open.
- Keep the CRM honest, and tell engineering and marketing every week what buyers are actually asking.

You'll thrive here if you

- Have run purchase files end to end for two or more years, as a conveyancer, paralegal, legal assistant or file manager.
- Were always the one the clients asked for.
- Can explain cooling-off, finance conditions, building and pest, and auction versus private sale to a nervous buyer in two sentences, without looking anything up.
- Like a target. You want to be paid for what you convert, and you can tell us what you did last time you were behind.
- Are good on the phone and happy to be on it most of the day. Warm, brief, not pushy.
- Write the way you talk. Any legal term comes with a plain-English translation.

What we offer

- A seat at a growing legal-tech business, reporting to the Head of Operations, alongside expert property lawyers and a small engineering and marketing team.
- A pipeline that's already running and tooling that keeps you on the phone with buyers, not buried in admin.
- Hybrid or fully remote, your call. Melbourne office when it suits you. Business hours, Monday to Friday.
- A low-ego team that backs great work and celebrates wins.

Must-haves

- Unrestricted right to work in Australia.
- Two or more years running residential purchase files (conveyancing, paralegal or legal assistant), or equivalent client-facing property experience.
- References that speak to buyer care and follow-through.
