Join WA’s Fastest-Growing Events Crew

Sick of boring labouring jobs where every day feels the same?

If you’re tired of

- Working with crews that don’t communicate, don’t care, and don’t grow
- Job-to-job uncertainty, last-minute rosters, and bosses who don’t plan ahead
- Getting stuck on work sites where no one appreciates the effort you put in
- Feeling like just another number instead of part of a proper team

Then keep reading, because this might be the most key job ad you’ll read this year.

We’re Hiring Now

We’re looking for reliable casual crew who can start straight away. This is a casual position to begin with, but for the right person there’s a real opportunity to pick up more consistent hours as you prove yourself and grow with the team.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

At Spuds Marquee Hire, we offer something most labouring jobs don’t:

Fun, variety, growth, and a crew that actually has each other’s back.

You’ll join a company that:

- Works year-round, not just seasonal peaks
- Grows leaders from within. Almost all of our team leaders started as labourers
- Gives you variety: weddings one day, festivals the next, regional trips when you want them
- Respects your time, your effort, and your future

This isn’t “just a labouring job”. It’s skilled marquee building, problem-solving, teamwork, and taking pride in creating structures thousands of people will enjoy.

About Us

We’re Spuds Marquee Hire, part of a wider family of event companies including The Fun Depot.

For more than a decade, we’ve helped build some of WA’s favourite weddings, festivals, corporate events, and regional activations.

Our team culture is simple:

Work hard, look after each other, operate like pros, and have a laugh while doing it.

We’re a growing, stable operation with big plans for the future, and we want reliable, hands-on people who are keen to build long-term opportunities with us.

The Role

You’ll be part of our Event & Marquee Install Crew on a casual basis, working across Perth and occasionally regional WA.

You Will:

- Set up and pack down marquees, event structures, carnival rides and bouncy castles
- Work with aluminium beams, legs, keder roofs, walls, anchors and full structural systems
- Load and unload trucks with tools, equipment and materials
- Work safely, following site instructions and team leader direction
- Solve problems on-site and help make sure builds are completed to a high standard
- Occasionally assist our sister company with rides, inflatables and event support

We Need People Who:

- Can start immediately
- Are reliable, hardworking and ready for physical outdoor work
- Have a valid driver’s licence
- Are available for weekday and weekend shifts (weekends are our busiest days)
- Work well in a team and enjoy getting things done

Bonus Points For:

- Experience in marquees, scaffold, rigging, construction or event builds
- White Card
- Forklift licence

- Ability to use hand tools and follow site plans
- A problem-solver mindset

Benefits & Opportunities

- Immediate Start: get to work straight away
- More Hours for the Right Person: show up, work hard, and consistent hours can follow
- Variety Every Week: different sites, different builds, different challenges

Final Word & How to Apply We know our greatest strength is our people. Nearly all our long-term team members stay because they value growth, teamwork, and being part of a crew that actually cares.
