Chef Wanted

Location: Donnybrook Hotel Lithgow, NSW (and employment may include an affiliate organisation: the White Tank Hotel West Wyalong NSW 2671)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Start Date: Immediate or by negotiation; must be available for a trial in the next week or two

We have a passion for a home-made, fresh menu delivering all the classic pub favourites along with some extraordinary specials. Our venue is a hub for locals and visitors alike, with regular events, a strong community spirit, and a love for the laid-back lifestyle.

The Role

You’ll lead or support overall kitchen operations, ordering & stock control and most importantly delivering consistent, delicious food.

- Cooking menu items according to our restaurant's recipes and specifications
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner
- Monitor food stock levels and ordering supplies are low




- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure that all orders are prepared correctly and on time
- Planning menus, specials, and estimating food/labour costs
- Monitoring quality of dishes
- Discussing food preparation issues with Managers
- Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- Selecting and training staff

Requirements

- Proven experience as a restaurant chef
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and Australian food safety regulations
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills/proficient in English
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
