Avarly Early Learning | Oakdale, NSW
Full-Time or Part-Time | November 2026 - January 2027 Commencement
Build something special from the very beginning.
Avarly Early Learning is a brand-new 86-place early learning centre coming to Oakdale NSW 2570, and we are looking for an experienced and passionate Centre Director to join us as we prepare to open our doors early 2027.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Centre Director to become part of a service from its very beginning, helping shape the culture, build the team, establish strong systems and create an environment where children, families and educators genuinely feel they belong.
About the opportunity
As our Centre Director, you will work closely with our Owners to lead the service through its opening phase and into full operation.
As a brand-new service, the role will naturally evolve. When we first open, occupancy will be low and the operational workload will initially be smaller. As our enrolments grow, so too will the size of the team, number of families, operational requirements and overall responsibility of the role.
We are therefore looking for someone who is comfortable growing alongside the service and understands that the role will progressively develop as Avarly grows towards its full 86-place capacity.
Our perfect applicant will be willing to grow with us, rather than someone who is looking for an established service with an already-developed team and systems.
Before we open
There will also be an exciting start-up component to the role.
Where possible, we would love our successful candidate to commence prior to our January 2027 opening date so they can become involved in the final stages of preparing the service.
This may include
- Participating in final staff interviews and helping select the team they will ultimately lead
- Contributing to the development of the centre's culture and expectations
- Assisting with staff onboarding and preparation
- Establishing operational systems and procedures
- Preparing the service for opening
- Building relationships with families prior to commencement
- Working alongside the Owners during the final stages of the centre's establishment
- Ensuring the service is prepared to provide a high-quality experience from day one
Responsibilities of the role Once operational, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the service, including:
- Leading, mentoring and supporting a team of educators
- Building and maintaining a positive workplace culture
- Ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Regulations and relevant legislation
- Maintaining high standards of educational practice and care
- Building strong relationships with children, families and the local community
- Supporting enrolment growth and family engagement
- Staff recruitment, induction, performance management and development
- Rostering and workforce planning
- Supporting the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Managing day-to-day centre operations
- Working closely with the Owners and Approved Providers
- Preparing for and participating in regulatory and quality assessment processes
- Monitoring the service's ongoing quality improvement
- Creating an environment where educators feel supported, valued and motivated to do their best work
What we are looking for Previous Centre Director experience is essential.
We are looking for an experienced early childhood leader who:
- Has previous experience working as a Centre Director
- Has a strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and regulatory requirements
- Has demonstrated experience leading and developing an early childhood team
- Is confident managing the operational requirements of a service
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Is organised, proactive and able to work independently
- Has a genuine passion for children, families and early childhood education
- Can build strong relationships with educators, families and the wider community
- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities will evolve
- Is confident making decisions and taking ownership
