About the role

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Civil Engineer to join our team to plan, design, coordinate and oversee civil works for residential and commercial construction projects.

Working closely with our project team and external consultants, you will exercise professional engineering judgement, develop and review civil engineering solutions, coordinate design and construction requirements, and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.

· Determine appropriate construction methods, materials and quality standards, and prepare, review and interpret engineering drawings, plans, specifications and construction procedures.

· Coordinate and oversee construction activities, including site preparation, earthworks, drainage,

· Analyse site conditions and geotechnical reports to determine design parameters for earthworks, drainage, foundations and retaining works, and coordinate specialist investigations or testing where required.

· Undertake and verify engineering calculations and technical assessments to develop, optimise and confirm the performance and constructability of civil works and associated building components.

· Review architectural, structural and civil engineering drawings and specifications to assess constructability and engineering requirements, and provide technical input into quantity take-offs, cost estimates and budget control.

· Assess proposed design changes and construction variations for their engineering, constructability, compliance, program and cost impacts, and prepare technical recommendations to support variation management.

· Liaise with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve design and construction issues and ensure civil works are delivered in accordance with approved designs and specifications.

· Inspect and oversee civil construction works, monitor progress, quality and conformance with approved designs, identify technical issues and defects, and develop or recommend appropriate engineering solutions.

· Prepare engineering calculations, design documentation, technical reports and site inspection records, respond to technical queries, and ensure civil works comply with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, WHS requirements and company procedures.

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering.

· At least five years of post-qualification professional civil engineering experience, preferably in residential or commercial development.

· Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, materials, Australian Standards and site practices

· Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications and construction documentation

· Demonstrated experience in planning and designing civil works, including drainage, earthworks, site levels and foundations, for residential and commercial developments

· Robust analytical, problem-solving and project coordination skills

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and relevant engineering, estimating or project management software

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety and compliance

· Ability to work effectively in office and construction site environments
