At Clear Insurance, you’ll manage our financial operations and provide reporting and insight that help our CEO, Board and leadership team make informed decisions. You’ll have ownership of the detail and work closely with the people who rely on your advice.

Your role at Clear

Reporting to the CEO, you’ll manage day-to-day accounting, payroll and trust accounts, using Xero and our broking system, Insight.

Beyond the regular transactions, you’ll prepare and analyse monthly financial reports, monitor cash flow and performance against budget and targets, and prepare annual and half-yearly budgets. You’ll help the CEO understand what the figures mean and talk through anything that needs attention.

You’ll also manage tax reporting and coordinate financial statement preparation and audit requirements, working with Steadfast’s finance team, our external accountant and auditors. Supporting the business’s AFSL financial obligations is an important part of the role.

This is a hands-on role with no direct reports, suited to someone comfortable moving between detailed accounting work and the broader financial picture.

About you





You’ve managed a finance function or held a senior accounting role with responsibility for reporting, budgets and month-end processes. You’re confident handling the day-to-day work as well as reviewing financial performance.

Strong Xero skills are essential. Experience with trust accounting, insurance broking systems or AFSL financial obligations would be highly regarded, as would a background in financial or professional services.

You’re comfortable working independently and asking for input when you need it. You explain financial matters in a way that helps others understand, and people can trust you to handle confidential information with care.

The role is 20 hours per week, with the weekly arrangement discussed at interview. Additional hours will be required during June/July and January/February to support seasonal financial reporting and budget work.
