Position Information

The College Principal is the face of secondary education in Dubbo and needs to be able to work with all partner primary schools, secondary schools beyond the college across the network and beyond, and have a strong collaborative partnership with the community. The College Principal has line management for the three college campus principals in conjunction with a solid effective partnership with the Director Educational Leadership. The position requires leadership of the College Management Group and delivery of cohesion of three campuses as one school. In addition there is a heavy reliance on ensuring continuity of initiative's, programs and curriculum from 7 to 12 through strategic planning and collaboration of all three campus principals. The implementation of the Plan for Public Education is pivotal and needs to reflect strong processes in the voice of the students staff and community.

Selection Criteria

Approval to teach. In addition to the general selection criteria,

- Proven ability to create transformational opportunities in a culturally diverse environment with a wide range of complexity.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and provide opportunities to ensure equitable staff access to teaching opportunities, resources and professional development, across multiple sites in a complex 7- 12 environment through an environment of transparency and integrity.
- Proven ability to build community confidence in Public Education and increase student enrolments with an emphasis on connection with community
- Exceptional skills and capability in transforming the college pathways programs from Years 7 to 12 by leveraging innovation and curiosity in collaboration with our primary partners.

General Selection Criteria

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3.



High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Classification Structure for Principals: The principal classification for this school is College Principal, level 5 for 2027.

The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2017 outlines the principal classification framework introduced in 2016, which is structured according to the complexity of schools.

Please refer to the information regarding the classification structure for principals The classification and renumeration for principals is determined by the complexity of the school, as indicated by each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the continual implementation of this framework, a yearly review of thresholds and outcomes will take place.

Additional Information

Dubbo College consists of three campuses, Dubbo College Delroy Campus 7-10, Dubbo College South Campus 7-10 and Dubbo College Senior Campus. This is the only secondary structure for Dubbo and is critical to the local area. The senior campus has growing enrolments and is recognised for its academic excellence modelling explicit teaching and HPGE as stand out strengths, additionally they have 10 support classes.

The two junior campuses are focused on literacy and numeracy alongside innovation and transformational change in a diverse cultural and economic community. All campuses work with a single P and C and are focussed on delivery a one school model that comprehensively educates all students.
