Work That Stays Needed

For many older Western Australians, getting to a GP or specialist appointment, or getting home after a hospital stay, depends on a reliable driver who treats them with patience and respect. National Patient Transport provides that service. You don’t need a healthcare qualification for this role. If you’re a careful driver who enjoys looking after people, our training covers the rest.

What You’ll Get

- Pay certainty: $31.26 per hour for full-time and part-time, or $39.07 per hour for casuals (including 25% casual loading), plus allowances and penalty rates for [nights, weekends and public holidays]
- Paid induction and community transport training, so you earn from day one
- Full-time, part-time and casual positions, so you can choose the pattern of work that suits you
- Uniform supplied
- The security of working for a company backed by ComfortDelGro, one of the world’s largest land transport operators

The Role You’ll drive eligible community patients, many of them older people, to and from medical appointments and home after hospital discharge, in our NPT cars across metropolitan Perth. That means helping passengers in and out of the vehicle using the right mobility aids, keeping them comfortable and treating them with dignity along the way, and working with our booking team to keep the day running on time.

You’ll also complete pre- and post-trip vehicle checks and report any faults promptly.

About You

- Current WA C class driver’s licence
- Current First Aid and CPR
- A National Police Check
- A record of Traffic Infringement Notices from WA Police Force
- Willingness to meet WA Health immunisation requirements

It Helps If You Have Experience in aged care, disability support, healthcare or another customer-facing role, or experience assisting people with limited mobility. If you don’t, our induction will cover it.

What Happens After You Apply

We recruit in a regular monthly cycle, so you won’t be left waiting. Shortlisted applicants receive an invitation to a short phone interview from our HR team within 5-7 business days, followed by an in-person interview in Canning Vale, and successful applicants start in our next available induction intake in the third week of each month. If your application isn’t successful this time, we’ll let you know.

Diversity & Inclusion

We are proud to be an equal prospect employer, and encourage applications from people of all genders, backgrounds and experiences, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people with disability.
